Terms of Service
Last updated: September 6, 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By generating an address, creating an account, or calling the zephbox API, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
2. What the service is
zephbox provides disposable email addresses backed by a pool of managed inbox accounts and custom domains, a web interface to read received mail, and a developer REST API (Premium) for programmatic access, OTP/verification-code extraction, webhooks, and email forwarding. Free-tier addresses are device-tracked and not guaranteed to persist indefinitely; see Security & Privacy for retention specifics.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction if higher, to create a zephbox account. The free, no-signup tier has no account-based age gate, but by using it you represent that you meet this requirement.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use zephbox to: violate any law; harass, defraud, or impersonate another person; circumvent another service's account-verification or anti-abuse controls in a way that violates that service's own terms; send spam, malware, or phishing content through forwarding; or attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the service or API beyond documented rate limits. We may suspend or terminate access for violations without notice.
5. Account security
If you create an account, you're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Tell us promptly via the contact form if you suspect unauthorized access. We're not liable for losses caused by someone else using your credentials, whether or not you authorized that use.
6. Free tier and quotas
Free-tier usage is provided as-is, rate-limited, and may change (including quota reductions) at any time. There is no guarantee of address or message availability, uptime, or retention on the free tier.
7. Premium subscriptions
Premium is billed on a recurring basis until cancelled. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund the current billing period unless required by applicable law. Features described on the pricing page may change with reasonable notice.
8. Custom domains
If your plan includes attaching a custom domain, you're solely responsible for that domain's ownership, DNS configuration, and any obligations you have to third parties regarding its use. zephbox may suspend mail routing to a custom domain that's used in violation of Section 4 (Acceptable use), or that's flagged by a mail-reputation blocklist, without that constituting a breach of these terms.
9. API and developer use
API keys are personal to your account — do not share them. You're responsible for how your integration uses the API, including complying with the rate limits and usage policies described in the API documentation. We may revoke keys used for abuse.
10. Intellectual property
The zephbox name, logo, and site design are the property of their owner and aren't licensed to you by using the service. You retain whatever rights you already have in content that passes through a mailbox you control; zephbox doesn't claim ownership of message content, and only accesses it to provide the inbox display, forwarding, and API features you've requested.
11. Termination
You can stop using the service, or delete your account from account settings, at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account for violating these terms, for extended inactivity, or if required to do so by law, with or without notice depending on the severity of the issue.
12. No warranty
The service is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that any given website will accept a zephbox address, or that mail will be delivered, retained, or forwarded without error.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, zephbox is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, including lost data, lost access to a third-party account, or missed communications. For any claim not subject to that exclusion, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid zephbox, if any, in the twelve months before the claim arose.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold zephbox harmless from claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these terms or your misuse of the service — for example, using a zephbox address or the forwarding feature to send content that violates Section 4.
15. Governing law & severability
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which zephbox's operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, updating the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
17. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent via the contact form on the site.
